From APP:
Rutgers University junior shortstop Todd Frazier was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the supplemental part of the first round of Major League Baseball's First-Year Player Draft Thursday.
The former Toms River High School South star was the 34th selection overall, which makes him the second highest all-time selection among Shore Conference players. Ex-Toms River North standout pitcher J.M. Gold was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers with the 13th selection of the 1998 draft.
Frazier, the Big East Conference Player of the Year this season, set Rutgers' all-time single season record for home runs with 22 this season. That broke the record set last year by Frank Meade.
